Paris in the Summertime

Paris in the Summertime

Always looking for that unique spot wherever I am led me to Le Pavillion des Canaux. Every town has it, that quintessential establishment that is one of the city’s best kept secret. Well, Pavillion de Canaux is such a place. Nestled in the 19the arrondissement this house is set in the heart of Bassin de la Villette. At first glance it just looks like a building or a house with a ground floor cafe. You imagine the upstairs is probably reserved for private partie or it is actually the living quarters for the owners of the establishment.

Located by the water it offers outside seating during the time when the weather permits it. However, the most interesting feature of this hidden gem is inside the house. Imagine yourself sitting in a bath tub while reading your book, but this time you are fully clothed. Don’t worry it’s not a running tub so you do not have to worry about getting your clothes wet. I know it sounds strange, but trust me it is one of the most innovative places I have seen. Igneous how they have used up every room of the house for your use.

How about sitting at a table in the kitchen of the house with your sketch book and pencils are ready for you to creatively coming up with some amazing ideas you can put to paper. Well this Coffice is actually a working place open to everyone. That is why every room in the house is available, including the bathroom.

The friendly house caters to individuals who need a space to work. It is also hosts a cafe and a restaurant all in one.

The lunch menu offers quiche slices, soups and much more to entice your palate. One of my favorites is the chicken Korma, but don’t forget the dessert. Scones, cookies or pecan pie which is your favorite? If you are not hungry you can’t just order a glass or wine at the cafe, relax and enjoy the view.

So, even though summer is almost over, remember next time you are in the area or just want to experience something completely different stop on by and enjoy Le Pavillion des Canaux in the 19th arrondissement.
