Vernazza one of the most beautiful of all of the villages in Cinque Terre has a natural pier with an amphitheatre shape making it one of the most photographed area in Cinque Terre. The small village actually has two beaches, yes two beaches. Founded about 1000 A.D., it boats a medieval castle and the popular restaurant Belfore.

If you have time, stop by Belforte, a well-known seafood restaurant that sits below Doria Castle, an 11th century old fortress nestled at the tip of the harbor. Belforte opened its doors about fifty years ago and offers some of the most famous Liguria recipes in the world.

Their specialty is their home-made pasta with an emphasis on local seafood. Try the “Bruno” spaghetti or the risotto agli scampi con curry, either one is scrumptious, you can’t go wrong. So, sit back enjoy a delicious home-made meal and bathe in the breathtaking view while sipping a glass of wine.

Before you leave this village, make sure you Immerse yourself in the colorful pastels and charming piazza at Vernazza. The views are breathtaking.
